Relative to the youthful applicants, elderly female candidates for administrative occupations had a 47% reduced callback speed, 7.6 percent versus 14.4 percent. In earnings, the gap was somewhat smaller with a 36% reduced callback rat18.4 percent versus 28.7 percent. In addition to being big, these openings can also be highly statistically significant.

For male labor application earnings, safety, and janitor job there can also be a decrease callback rate for elderly men generally. But in this instance, the era pattern is much less consistent or conspicuous, and sometimes the estimated differences between the old and young groups aren't statistically significant.
